Richard Green, PhD
Richard (Dick) Green is a physicist and retired chief executive. He comes from a 60 year long career in space physics and telecommunications management. In his early career, Dick managed research at the Boeing Scientific Research Laboratories and Hughes Aircraft Company. His subsequent career in television began at ABC Hollywood and continued as the Director of the CBS Advanced Television Technology Laboratory. Dick joined The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) as the Senior Vice President of Broadcast Operations and Engineering. He then founded CableLabs, a research consortium of the Cable industry, serving as its President and CEO for 22 years. Currently he serves as Director of Liberty Global Corporation, Shaw Communications Inc., Liberty Broadband and is the recent past Chairman of the Space Sciences Institute in Boulder Colorado. Among many honors, Green received a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award in 2012 in recognition of his contributions to television and cable.
