Somaliland
NYAGI members visited Edna Adan Hospital in the capital of Somaliland, Hargeisa. We partnered up with a team of midwives who joined our Triage OUT program. The goal of Triage OUT is to teach Obstetric and Ultrasound, so providers can identify the pregnancies which could be at risk and advise mothers about receiving follow-up care.
Nepal
NYAGI collaborated with One Heart Worldwide to host accelerated training sessions in basic prenatal ultrasound for Skilled Birth Attendants from clinics across Nepal.
Haiti
NYAGI is working with Haiti’s local healthcare centers and professionals to properly triage everything from treatable complications of pregnancy to childhood pneumonia, fractures, and emergency trauma situations. The goal is to educate, empower, and elevate Haiti’s healthcare system via diagnostic ultrasound.
Tanzania
NYAGI is working with the Ministry of Health, Tanzanian Midwives Association, and AFYA Connect to teach local healthcare providers how to use ultrasound for prenatal and emergency triage.
Nicaragua
NYAGI is implementing an accelerated training program in prenatal point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) for health care workers serving Nueva Segovia communities. The purpose of this project is to prove efficacy of our teaching model to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in Nicaragua.
